The search for truth in criminal proceedings

Abstract

Based on the purposes of criminal proceedings, the search for truth is analyzed as an essential purpose, which serves as a legitimating criteria in the State in the exercise of the right to punish. However, looking under a critical view, it is impossible do it for the multiple constraints by the system itself and the various theories that exist around the truth.
