Abstract

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), through years of research, new studies, advances in diagnostic methods, treatments and other chemotherapy led to pathologies associated and controlling the pathogenesis of the virus, has gone from being a disease of high mortality to a chronic disease that must be handled comprehensively by the health sector and included in the actions of prevention, early recognition and diagnosis in the primary care sector known as E.B.A.I.S. in Costa Rica. This virus is causing a pandemic due to its high degree of transmission and easy transfer from one sector to another. However in its 30 years of existence, HIV has become more endemic in certain white populations where at a particular time outbreaks increase, affecting younger every day especially inappropriate sexual practices people.
