What, how and with what do we teach? Questions we should ask ourselves teachers

Abstract

Due to the contributions of the paper presented by Modesto Ñeco Quiñones in the 6th International Workshop and the 1st Symposium on Mexican National Education and Thinking (2005) named “The Role of Teachers in a Constructivist Pedagogical Scheme”, and due to the emergence of the National Accreditation System of University Education (Sistema Nacional de Acreditación de Educación Superior) as an institutions that certifies quality of education; this article analyzes the most important theories related to Curriculum Theories. The main objective of the article is to revise several points of view that emerged after reading the paper mentioned above. The author does not aim to write an erudition on the topic, what is aimed is to motivate the readers to keep on investigating and, if possible, to promote the practice of the elements that can contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process. The article also presents the role that has to be played by the professor who teaches in the institution.
