Globalization, incommunicadoness and education
Main Article Content
Abstract
The author values the contradictions generated by globalization in the "world village" and how it impacts on quality of life, politics, economy, culture and education. The central idea of this research is to show how in an era of incredible media progress a deep human incommunicadoness becomes apparent and how education often far from resolving the conflict, that is, to promote authentically human encounter and dialogue, rather accentuates fiercely competitive individualism, being a reflection of a type of society in which most people manipulate and are at the same time objects manipulation.
It is an unquestionable fact that New Information Technologies have deeply squided and transformed the fabric of our daily lives, to the point of having configured our thinking and even understanding of ourselves and others. Coupled with these spectacular advances in the media, which should have meant greater mutual knowledge of the peoples and a growing rapprochement between them, we are witnessing, on the contrary, a dehumanization that entails inter-ethnic, religious, sociopolitical, psychological conflicts, etc. Perhaps today, more than ever in society torn apart by so many conflicts, communication becomes so necessary as a procedure for solving our problems and developing a true human personality. However, in our current situation, as Castilla del Pino points out, the paradox, or, better the contradiction, is that the phenomenon of communication, and of the very existence of unimaginable means of communication, run evenly, but in reverse proportion, with the factual incommunicadoity that is verified between one man and another.
