Abstract

If we want to be aware of what Medicine has meant to society, we must remember what the famous health practitioner, historian and philosopher, Henry Sigerist, said about it:

"Medicine is the study and application of biology is a structure of Humanity, which is, at the same time: historical, social, political, economic and cultural."
