Abstract

The Catholic Church began the religious reform before the Reformation itself did, but it did not manage to put it into action, but instead became Against that appellation to a great extent does justice to facts, because the Roman Church instead of reforms thought of fighting to the Protestant churches to the Reformation or Reformation, than to make a Christian rebirth; but just as he is right, too, because the ecclesiastical reform achieved at the Council of Trent is impressive and certainly more profound than the Protestant, although, both the Protestant, was wrong in the main thing and remained in the accessory: as so many other times in the history of Christendom it was forgotten that the fight against the world is to save the world, not to defeat it.
