Abstract

This presentation reveals the results of a quantitative research, carried out with 71 students from the Headquarters of the Law career of the Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica, to measure the competences in the search and management of information with the use of Information Technologies and Communication (ITC), towards decision making. The main results obtained showed that students perceive themselves more competent in the use of tools and programs of greater use in social interaction, but that perception decreases for planning, searching and processing information for the professional and academic field. However, the events of recent months, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, have forced students to rethink how to self-manage access to information with the help of ITC.
