Abstract

Nausea and vomiting in the early stages of pregnancy are an extremely frequent phenomenon, affect approximately more than half (40-60%) of pregnant women and are more common between weeks 6-14 of pregnancy and usually resolve before 16-20 weeks, although 20% may persist in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Being a common entity, it becomes the main cause of absenteeism in 35% of cases and contributes significantly to health costs. In addition to having the potential to reduce the quality of life of women and increase the risks of comorbidities during pregnancy.
