Christ had no brothers

Abstract

There is no specific word for cousin, nephew, brother, friend, etc. in Biblical Hebrew and Greek. That is why instrumental authors use, in the first language ach and adelfós, in the second, which has been translated as brother, but it is a polysemic word. This linguistic problem has led to the error of affirming that Jesus Christ had blood brothers. When Christ was alluded to this theme, he brought to the forefront the fulfillment of his Father's will, instead of kinship by consanguinity. If there had been uterine brothers Christ, before he died, he would have chosen to trust his Mother to them and not to his cousin St. John.
