Abstract

The first thing to make in a glimpse of globalization is to try to define the process of globalization beyond merely economic manifestations, and to understand it, rather, as a process in which there are various social, cultural, environmental and sociological dimensions. As David Held puts it, globalization:


... alludes to a change or transformation on the scale of human organizations, which puts remote communities in touch and that increase the scope of power relations in all areas of the world... Although globalization generates thick patterns of cross-border-economic, political, legislative, social and environmental activities and networks, among others- it does not necessarily have to prefigure the emergence of a harmonious global society or a process of integration between nations and cultures,
