Abstract

Strategic planning is, par excellence, the most important activity for a company or organization. Just as a ship cannot sail offshore without the necessary instruments to guide it to its destination; no company or organization could navigate the world of business or own activity, without the guidance of strategic planning that marks the north where it intends to go.
A company or organization has its genesis in a purpose; we talk about what will establish its reason for being in the field in which it will be developed, a need to be addressed that will bring as a product the recruitment of customers or users.
Strategic Planning is the process by which a company or organization determines its purpose with a long-term vision and selects the best alternatives it has in a particular market and context of characteristics; the latter expressed through competitive objectives and strategies.
