Abstract

The history of universities has been full of debates about which university or style of universities is better than the other, but to refer to this topic it is necessary to remember when and where universities are born.
These take their first steps in the so-called Middle Ages, that period of humanity that some mistakenly called obscurantism, here is an important contradiction, the universities in question take shape and are the product without a doubt of the contradictions that arose in the Middle Ages, this has to be understood as the legitimate expression of a group that was fighting for power and, consequently, it was a cultural expression, because culture in the strict sense is not born, it is made, it is built.
