Abstract

Its contribution to economic development is that, thanks to financial intermediation, it is possible to transfer resources from surplus economic units to deficit economic units, thus allowing them to take advantage of a series of investment opportunities that, as On the contrary, they would be lost or would not be undertaken if bank financing were not available.
