The Organic agriculture in Costa Rica

Abstract

After mentioning some aspects of the variability of the terminology related to the name of organic agriculture, some of its main characteristics are mentioned. Subsequently, some considerations and examples are described that highlight its productivity and economic profitability, as well as the main crops currently produced in Costa Rica with this type of agriculture. Then the potential that the country has to favor its rapid implementation is highlighted. Finally, some additional considerations are made which emphasize the need, urgency and convenience of undertaking actions to achieve the dissemination and consolidation of the principles of organic agriculture in Costa Rica.
