Abstract

Each of the states and types of man studied by Plato, have specific causes that generate their decline. In the ideal state, the ignorance of the magistrates was what made him degenerate, paving the way to the timocratic state; On the other hand, his excessive ambition was what lost him by turning him into an oligarchy; while, in this, there is a transition to democracy from an insatiability towards riches.
