Saint Thomas Aquinas against Christianity and the history of Philosophy

Abstract

Until modern times, the thought of the West has been conditioned by a capital event: the encounter of the evangelical message or Christian wisdom with the culture of antiquity. All the great intellectual problems are related to this conjunction. It will be necessary to wait for the end of the Renaissance so that spirits are dominated by other concerns, born from the shock of Christian wisdom itself, already penetrated by Hellenism, with a conception of things completely renewed by the progress of science and technology. ; Attention will no longer be directed towards a surviving past, but towards a future in formation.
