Abstract

The emergence of scientific mechanism affirms that all the phenomena of nature must be explained through the simple laws of mechanics and therefore, mechanics has a privileged status compared to other sciences. Thus, biological laws become physicochemical laws and, therefore, it can be argued that the principle of movement is in living bodies or, in other words, the vital principle produces vital phenomena and encompasses all living bodies. Faced with such seemingly simple affirmations, there are those who deny that the operations of life occur in everyone in the same way and that the vital activities in which everyone participates are only vegetative. Therefore, we ask ourselves, what is the activity of the living body?
