Abstract

In April 1824, the distinguished lawyer, jurisconsult, intellectual, landowner and politician, Lic. Agustín Gutiérrez de Lizaurzábal and his family, established their residence in the City of Cartago. After several negotiations with the main families of the city, he acquired the house that had belonged to the then Governor Don Tomás de Acosta located on Calle de la Soledad and owner, in turn, of some other properties in Guarco and Quircot.
