The history of the earth chronology and events of a singular Blue Planet

Abstract

Earth is a dynamic system comprising fluid oceans and atmosphere, an ever-changing global distribution of ice, snow, and groundwater, a liquid outer core that is in continuous hydromagnetic motion, a mantle with thermal convection inside, and undergoing active isostasis due to the loss of ice overweight from the last ice age, and diligent plate tectonics, continually mobilizing the lithosphere. As if that were not enough, there is an impressive biospheric mass, and one species in particular, Homo sapiens, works incessantly, more unwittingly than willingly, to change the natural conditions of the planet.
