Abstract
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) is a chronic disease that occurs when the body does not effectively use the insulin it produces, and prediabetes is a condition that precedes the diagnosis of DM2 and is characterized by an increase in the concentration of glucose in blood beyond normal levels without reaching the diagnostic values of diabetes. Currently, DM2 rates have increased worldwide and an association with lifestyle has been found, mainly in patients that have overweight and obesity. Articles where studies were conducted in different countries and in different populations have been analyzed, exposing them to changes in lifestyle, such as healthy diets and an increase in weekly aerobic physical activity. According to the data obtained, it was possible to demonstrate that a change in lifestyle improves alterations in glucose tolerance.
