Abstract

After reading the article based on the conference “Unconscious guilt, mania, and melancholy of the addict” by Dr. José Treszezamsky; this article reviews some information about this topic. This conference, which was organized by Dr. Andrés Isola Hospital and by the Social Promotion and Development Ministry of the City Hall, was held in Puerto Madryn, Argentina in May, 2000.


The author of this article delves into important details that make reference to addictions based on the Psychoanalytic Theory. Throughout this article, issues linked to the psychopathology of the addictive personality and to the information gathered on this topic are reviewed. On top of that, the author describes the elements of psychodynamics that contribute to a suitable treatment for the patient.
