The tensions between countryside and city in history Latin America, (nineteenth-twentieth centuries)

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to address some theoretical and methodological issues that address the tensions between countryside and city in Latin American history and to make contributions about historical problems raised by their study, in relation to the perspective of analysis that is considered relevant.
The field-city dichotomy in the context of Latin American history opens fields of relevant studies in the nineteenth-twentieth centuries that cover a wide arc of variables from which you can deepen, thus the variable of power, the hegemonic class, the internal economic circuits and their external relations, the ideologies that social actors build in each of the spaces to which they belong and where they develop their daily stories. We know that, in Latin American history, social, economic, political and ideological relations were built around the city, and the countryside is projected in an unruptive way in the urban sphere in the 1930s approximately. This allows us to understand some historical problems in the dialectical relationship between the countryside and the city in Latin America.
