Abstract

This paper focuses on some philological aspects about the RequiemMass KV 626 by W. A. Mozart [1756-1791]. It mainly refers to latin texts, specially the sequence Dies irae, which are commented and translated into Spanish Language, and the historic circumstances of the literary composition. Given the composer’s dead, just at the moment of composing the Requiem, other composers added the lacking parts. The Prologue of this paper deals with some ideas on the death according to the composer.

Specialty: Latin and Romance languages ​​(Heidelberg). Teaching and Academic Regime: 35 years, UCR. Guest Professor: Augsburg University, Germany; University of Bergen, Norway. Publications: seven books and 45 articles. Conferences: various in several institutions and in two other countries. Topics: humanism, rebirth, Latin (its subcodes), Romance languages; Sacred music and literature by music geniuses.
