Abstract

The subject assigned to me, RIGHT AND HUMAN RIGHTS, raises the need for some preliminary definitions, especially in the case of an Interdisciplinary Course, which is aimed at the consideration of human rights from different points of view and with different methods, corresponding to different disciplines, although concurrent in a common object.
The first question arises from its own title: saying Law and Human Rights suggests that these are two different, albeit related or relatable things: on the one hand, law; on the other, human rights, as something to do with the former, but which is somehow placed in front of it.
However, this relationship acquires completely different connotations for the Jurist, for whom it is an essential relationship, between law as a whole and human rights as one of its manifestations, and for those who cultivate other disciplines, from whose points of view legal is just one of the possible dimensions of those rights, which, in turn, , are other things besides law. The issue is further complicated if it is noted that, even among jurists, it is not very clear what they mean by human rights.
