The distance learning as an educational option for development

Abstract

The problems faced by contemporary man can hardly be equated in depth and scope with those that, in turn, were part of the human scene of other times. Powered perhaps by the size of the world's population, as well as by the vertiginous advance of the mass media, it could be said that humanity faces gigantic challenges, which in turn require cyclopean solutions. Are not the problems of: pollution, generalized violence against women and children, economic imbalance in Third World countries and, in general, of everything that concerns the man of our time? Is it not overwhelming the surprise that the fall of the Berlin Wall has caused us, the terrifying advance of war technology materialized in the Persian Gulf War and the apparently inexorable course that economies are taking, towards more open forms of interrelation, with their consequences of hunger and unemployment for those, whom a savage and predatory capitalism, has left in conditions of total disadvantage? Is it not, more true than ever in our time, that man is man's wolf?
